WARDED TO RUFUS & GAWAIN.During the secondary interrogation, the suspect gave us a lot more information. More specifically, he contributed more knowledge of the events that occurred in Tinworth. He admitted that the inferia virus was launched by an orb, which had fallen into Death Eater hands. This same orb was passed over to the Dark wizard You-know-who when it was revealed to the Death Eaters that this orb has the ability to control others' minds, much in the way of the Imperius Curse.
This being new knowledge, we pressed the suspect for more information. The suspect claimed he has no control over the orb or its directive orders, that only You-know-who alone has that power. Furthermore, he was skeptical that there is any way to undo the damage caused in Tinworth. I feel we won a significant deal of information today and consider the interrogation a great success.
WARDED TO THE ORDER.I have plenty of news for everyone. Good news first: I was given the opportunity, along with a colleague, to question Gibbon further today. He offered up a lot more information than he had before, including the fact that the Inferia virus had been caused by an orb which also possesses the power of mind control. The bad news is that this orb remains under the Dark lord's control and Gibbon suspects there is no way to reverse the damage done. I remain optimistic about this, however, as I think nearly any sort of magic is reversible and now that we know what is causing it, we have a far better idea of how to resolve it. So chin up, my dears, we're working this out.

WARDED TO PETER PETTIGREW, STURGIS PODMORE & MARLENE McKINNONI bring some bad news. Rufus Scrimgeour has decided that the letters sent to Sturgis and Marlene cannot be proven to be sent by Death Eaters so they will be passed onto the Hitwizard offices. And Peter, your sister's letter and package from Greyback, while certainly within the Auror office's jurisdiction, will most likely be delegated to the WCU offices since the Auror office is handling the matter of Tinworth.
I disagree with Scrimgeour's decisions on these correspondences and I am not prepared to let this go. But I cannot investigate it alone on top of everything else I am doing for both the Order and my job. I would like to bring this up to the Order to investigate as soon as possible. I know that this hardly seems fair and I'm sorry that this is happening after all that you have been through. But it is my hope that the Order will be able to do more that the DMLE cannot.

WARDED TO DMLE.I am writing in regards to the attack on Mr Orion Black, age 44, in Diagon Alley. Mrs Travers was present at the scene and treated Mr Black for multiple wounds, some of which were caused by Dark Magic. She told me that he was not altogether coherent but he was adamant that his attacker was a female and a member of the vigilante organisation The Order of the Phoenix. He kept referring to her as "The Phoenix". Mrs Travers had said the assailant ran and I immediately began to scout the area for witnesses and information.
Then I met a young witch by the name of Florence Wadcock. Priori Incantatem revealed that hers was in fact the wand that cast the spells and she admits she must have attacked Mr Black. But more peculiarly, she could not remember precisely what had happened, in addition to being extremely dazed and confused. This is most certainly Auror jurisdiction and I have placed her within our custody.
WARDED TO THE ORDER.The individual who seemingly attacked Sirius's father was a young witch by the name of Florence Wadcock, so definitely not one of ours. (Not that I had any misgivings.) I'm not convinced she participated willfully; she was dazed and confused and could not remember what had happened, but she said she knew she must have done something terrible. I think we should chalk this one up to another peculiar instance we need to criticise, much like Dedalus's cousin.
I'm going to bed.

WARDED TO AUROR OFFICE.I've spoken with the witnesses from the Smith murder in Hogsmeade.
PRIMARY WITNESS: BEATRIX MADLEY.I spoke with Miss Madley at the scene not long after we received a report of dark magic activity. She was extremely unnerved by the events but she confirmed what the two other witnesses have reported. She claimed that the wards on the establishment fell, that everything was shaking. Mr Smith left the premises, where the assailants killed him. She noticed that their voices were distinctly male and that they had tall figures. SECONDARY WITNESS: SIRIUS BLACK.Sirius Black had more information to share. He informed me that the victim had been ranting about Voldemort, after which two figures he claims to be Death Eaters attacked the man as soon as he'd left the store. Then the assailants disappeared. Black said there was a green light, which he assumed to be the Killing Curse. Crime scene evidence points to the Killing Curse as cause of death. Black also confirmed that the suspects sounded male and were tall. TERTIARY WITNESS: GRETA CATCHLOVE.
Miss Catchlove was extremely nervous when I met with her for questioning and she burst into tears on more than one occasion. It was difficult to question her, since she was clearly rattled by the events, but she believes it was Death Eaters working at Lord Voldemort's behest, though she refused to say his name out of fear that what happened to Smith may happen to her. Catchlove said that she noticed a masked person in a robe who used the Killing Curse on the victim Mr Smith. Catchlove stated that she and Sirius Black were just finishing their turn in the queue with their groceries when she saw the robed men appear. It seems that the magical enchantments protecting the building began to fail, according to what Catchlove said.
In conclusion, I can definitively say that this was the work of Death Eaters. The body of Mr Smith has been taken to St Mungo's for processing. We must have countless suspects with the descriptors of "tall" and "male," so I will have to see about interrogating employees at the Magic Neep for any possible clues. Otherwise, I believe this may be another dead end.

WARDED TO FRANK.I hate when there's fighting among the other members. And I hate leaving the discussion feeling like a terrible person, even if I think that I know I'm right. Am I right? Now I'm not so certain. I've been thinking about Dorcas a lot lately and about how she might have responded to the deaths yesterday. I know she would have said something about it, but she's dead. She's gone and I'm very scared for Robbie and for Sirius and I wish they could see how their rash outspokenness isn't as heroic as they think it is.
I'm just so disappointed.

WARDED TO FRANK.I hate lying to Rufus about Gideon and Fabian. And Moody was right. Running away to Egypt (or anywhere) looks awful for them. I'm so cross with them for leaving that I am quite tempted to hex them silly. I want to tell Rufus that they would never kill their parents or anybody else but I am so worried about implicating us. There was already that rumour about you and me being Death Eaters. And even though that was absolutely preposterous, Rufus and Moody both considered it a viable possibility. I suppose it's lucky that Moody is working their case since he knows the truth about what happened that night. But I want justice for their parents and I want them to be safe. I need them to be safe because I just do not know what I would do if something happened to either of them. I've been trying to tell myself for days that it will be all right and that we can stop something happening to them. But the Death Eaters are getting closer and closer. How many more times are they going to be that close to getting Fabian and Gideon? I feel like one of these days, the Prewetts may not be so lucky. Is that horrible of me?
And I don't know what on earth to do about giants.
